August 10th, 9pm - Race #1: SQUIRRELS IN THE HEADLAMP: SATURDAY

Ryan Dam Trail head North Shore access - 3.13 miles - map

Race Starts at Ryan Dam trail head and will be marked by glow sticks. BYOH, bring your own headlamp. There is approximately 200 meters of wide trail so hurry and get in position, because it turns to single track after that. This first section is rolling hills for 1.7 miles with some technical sections. On the way back you will have a long and gradual climb with a nice section of prairie flats, then a short fast decent to the finish. This should be a leg masher! Limited parking, carpooling is recommend. Parking at trail head and down at Recreation Center near the dam, approximately ¼ mile away from start. Water and light snacks will be provided at start and finish.

August 31st, 8am - Race #2  Squirrel Mayhem:

Lewis & Clark Overlook - 7.97 miles - map

Race starts at Lewis & Clark Overlook which overlooks Rainbow Falls. I know it will be hard to take your eyes off the spectacular scenery; quite possibly you can enjoy it on the way back,… or not. The first several hundred meters of the race will be on a paved bike trail, and then you will be diverted onto single track. The race consists of single track with several jeep trails to follow until you reach Cochran Dam. Here you are just short of the ½ way point and the way back is mostly technical single track. Hopefully you have a lot left in the tank. Remember what goes down must come back up. Dogs are welcome for this run and need to be on leash. An extra fee of $5.00 for pets will be assessed. Donations and additional funds collected for furry runners will go to the Animal Shelter. Limited parking, carpooling is recommended. Water and snacks will be provided at start and finish. At three points on the course there will be water ONLY, at approximately 2 miles, at turn around and 2 miles from finish. A Kid’s fun run to be held after.

September 28th, 8am - Race #3  Squirrels Gone Nutz:

Morony Dam Trailhead -  8.2 miles - map

The race starts at the bottom of the gravel road located across from the dam. You will have several hundred meters of mostly uphill climb before you funnel through the gate headed towards Ryan Dam. This trail is all single track, except for the short section on the start and finish. The ½ way point is at the Ryan Dam trail head (race #1). There is limited parking at Sulphur Springs Trail Head and Morony Dam, so carpooling is recommended. A Kid’s fun run is to be held after. Hikers are welcome to do the Sulphur Springs walk which is approximately 2 miles. Walkers will be started at the same time as runners on adjacent trail. Lots of give aways for walkers, kids and trail racers. Top 3 men and women for the series will be crowned. Top 3 masters men and women to be crowned. Lots of good food drink and fun to be had to wind up the series.
